San Rafael

City Council adopted foamed polystyrene container bag in October 2012.

Details of regulation: Retail food vendors are prohibited from providing prepared food or takeout food to customers in, on or with disposable food packaging, when any part of such packaging includes polystyrene foam. Exemptions include foods prepackaged outside the limits of the City, coolers and ice chests intended for reuse, emergency situations, and undue hardship.
