Local Advocacy

Your Community. Your Voice.

Thousands of measures are introduced each year at the local level. Monitoring city council and county government agendas, tracking proposed ordinances, engaging local elected officials, testifying on behalf of the grocery industry, and working with allied business groups are major benefits of Association membership. CGA provides comprehensive representation at the local government level before city councils, county board of supervisors and local regulatory agencies.

Our priority issues include single-use, carryout bag regulation, shopping cart ordinances, packaging restrictions, alcohol and tobacco licensing, hours of operation and labor.
