Pleasanton Disposable Food Service Ware

Ban on polystyrene food takeout containers with a requirement for food food takeout containers to be recyclable or compostable. Effective July 13, 2013.

Details of regulation: All food vendors within the city of Pleasanton that offers prepared food shall utilize only disposable food service ware that is either recyclable or compostable. The use of disposable food service ware manufactured with expanded polystyrene (PS6) is prohibited. Exemptions include prepackaged foods prepared outside the limits of the City and emergency situations.
