Details of regulation: Prohibits food providers from providing prepared food to customers in disposable food ware made from expanded polystyrene. Additionally, all
City facilities are prohibited from using expanded polystyrene disposable food ware by all City departments and agencies, including events. City franchisees, contractors, vendors, and caterers are prohibited from using expanded polystyrene disposable food ware. Exemptions include prepared foods that are prepared or packaged outside the City of El Cerrito, undue hardship, coolers and ice chests intended for reuse, and emergency situations.
