After years of consideration, Burbank has finalized and passed a food packaging ordinance. Under the ordinance, no polystyrene foodware packaging may be used, including for raw meats, starting July 2024. Beginning January 1, 2026 single-use foodware must be either compostable of recyclable. Click here to view the ordinance language.
