It is strongly recommended that community members use cloth face coverings when outside the home to prevent asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19 from the wearer to others. At workplaces, cloth face coverings are strongly recommended when interacting with the public, working in areas visited by the public or shared with co-workers, or when present with another person in an enclosed area. Children aged two years or less must not wear face coverings because of the risk of suffocation. Face coverings are not recommended for children six years or under, and may not be appropriate for individuals who would have difficulty removing the covering without assistance. The Napa County Health Officer Recommendations for Wearing Face Coverings should be consulted for additional guidance.
