College Scholarship Information The growth of the Foundation's scholarship program has been nothing short of phenomenal since its inception in 1998. For the 2011-12 scholarship season, the Foundation, with the help of its members, awarded 216 college scholarships totaling $288,250. This includes four types of scholarships: CGAEF funded, Legacy, Donor and Piggback Partnership Scholarships. Click here for information about all 2011-2012 College Scholarship recipients. APPLYING FOR A SCHOLARSHIP CGAEF Scholarships are open to high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are the dependents of employees or are themselves employees of a CGA member company. New for 2012/13: Graduate student scholarships are available for CGA member employees. Applications for the 2012-2013 academic year will be accepted starting January 1, 2012. AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, evidence of outstanding character and leadership potential. Undergraduate student applicants must be planning to enroll as full-time college students in the Fall of 2012 and Spring of 2011 at an accredited, non-profit college or university in the United States. Graduate student applicants must be planning to enroll in a graduate program during the Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 at an accredited, non-profit college or university in the United States. All scholarships are one-time awards. The following scholarships are available for the 2012-13 program. PIGGYBACK PARTNERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS Piggyback Partnership Scholarships are awards contributed by the following employers exclusively for their employees and administered by the CGA Educational Foundation.

Markets - Fifteen $1,000 Scholarships Jim & Linda Stump (Stump's Markets) - Two $500 Scholarships Super A Foods - Six $2,000 Scholarships Superior Grocers Foundation - Ten $2,000 Scholarships Times Supermarkets - Ten $1,000 Scholarships Unified Grocers, Inc. - Three $1,000 Scholarships Whole Foods Market - Nine Scholarships totaling $25,500 WinCo Foods - Ten $1,000 Scholarships All scholarships are one-time awards that are applied toward the recipient's educational expenses at any accredited, non-profit college or university in the United States. There is a new competition for awards each year. A recipient may reapply in a subsequent year.
