Haiti Relief Effort

PRODUCT/MONETARY DONATION INFORMATION
- Interested donors can visit www.interaction.org
to obtain a list of credible responding agencies for international
emergencies and www.give.org to get
valuable information on making informed decisions when supporting
charities. In addition, donors can visit www.globalgiving.org.
- FEMA and the State of California are requesting that businesses
and private organizations post offers of assistance or donations to the
database on www.cidi.org which is
the Center for International Disaster Information. See further CIDI
information under resources.
- The State of California has offered to CGA members a private
email address for donations. FEMA is staffing this email address and
working directly with the US State Department to match needs with
offers of assistance. Because the information is not available to the
public, please contact Jill Rulon
for specific information.
- Another website for making monetary or posting notice of
available commodity donations is www.aidmatrix.org.
Potential contributors are encouraged to pre-register as a willing
donor. Aidmatrix is the national donation portal used by FEMA as well
as the state of California and is becoming the standard for donations
management across the country. Although resource requests have been
delayed due to communications challenges in Haiti, activity is expected
soon. By pre-registering as a willing donor, you will automatically be
contacted if and when need arises. Please contact Dave Heylen if you have any

information regarding help for Haiti.

- Oxfam has an emergency team in the capital, Port-au-Prince,
responding with public health, water, and sanitation services. You can
donate online through its Haiti Earthquake Response Fund or by calling
1-800-77-OXFAM, www.oxfam.org.
- Partners in Health is taking contributions for relief efforts in
Haiti, including medical supplies. The organization has had a presence
in Haiti for more than 20 years, working to address the health care

- You can donate to The Salvation Army’s efforts in Haiti by
calling 800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769) or visiting their Web site and
designating that your donation is for the Haiti earthquake. www.salvationarmy.com
- The UN World Food Programme is deploying its resources in Haiti,

- CHF International is an international development and
humanitarian aid organization that has been widely established in Haiti
for many years. They are a primary responding organization that is

- If your company has any type of operations in Haiti and
assistance is needed, the State of California has offered their help to
CGA members as part of our public private partnership. They are able to
assist with their own direct contacts as well as the Federal government
agencies.
- The Center for International Disaster Information provides
comprehensive information on global disasters including the status of
Haiti, visit www.cidi.org. Please
note the website is extremely busy and may be slow in responding at
this time.
- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce plans to hold regular conference
calls to provide updates to interested donor companies, corporate
foundations, humanitarian organizations and media. Further information

CGA Requesting Haiti Disaster Relief
Information
If your company is providing relief to the victims of Tuesday's 7.0
earthquake that devastated Haiti, CGA is requesting you forward that
information to Association headquarters. CGA is aggregating total
donations made by CGA members in the event of media inquiries regarding
our industry's efforts to assist in this disaster.
In addition, if your company is providing opportunities for both
customers and employees to contribute, please forward that information
to CGA as well. Several companies have already provided CGA with press
releases regarding their relief efforts.

CGA Coordinating with State and Federal
Emergency Agencies
CGA is working with the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal
EMA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region IX to ensure
that all donation requests are properly coordinated.
