Career Development - We'll Pay You To Learn

Education is the key to job advancement and a more fulfilling career. The CGA Educational Foundation is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their goals by sponsoring the Career Development program, which reimburses tuition for job-related courses.

Working in the supermarket industry often makes it difficult to attend classes and seminars. The Career Development Program provides the opportunity to enhance job skills and education by assisting with the cost of tuition. Our goal is to help people employed in the industry gain the knowledge, skills and abilities to improve their performance and increase their chances for advancement.

There are a great variety of courses that qualify for this program. Classes may be taken through seminars, workshops, community colleges, colleges/universities or even home study programs. As long as the course is approved by the employer and falls within Foundation guidelines, it will likely be approved. Please note that all courses taken within the WAFC Retail Management Certificate Program are automatically approved.

Reimbursement Raised to $150 per Course ($750 Annually)

The CGA Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that the Career Development tuition reimbursement program will undergo exciting changes beginning Fall 2011.

CGA member company employees who request financial assistance for course work taken to further their grocery career may receive up to $150 per course and a maximum annual reimbursement of $750.

All college courses completed in pursuit of a degree as well as individual courses taken to increase your knowledge about the industry are eligible for reimbursement. Even single-day seminars are eligible for tuition assistance.
